this is outright silly, if you screw up and CAN recover, what is the beef with action required for recovery. however as a mental excersize 1) if tou feed a 405 transmitter with 232 transmit you will get a power current suck beyond what you can even imagine. 2) if your code require certain data to start that, of course, will not be seen if you hotswap after the start. 3) if you activate (by miswire or miscode) 2 485 drivers at the same time you will get a power current suck beyond what you can even imagine. 4) a 232 to 485 converter can be damaged to the extent that it does not work or to the extent that it need be powered off for a while if it get fed 232 levels. DO realize that the 485 signals are in milliVolts and always positive and the 232 signals are at the ten volt level both positive and negative. I am REALLY surprised that your stuff work at all after reversing the convertter. Erik |
