how do you know? many derivatives have plenty of RAM on chip and, also, it could be that he is "running out of pins" because he is adding external memory. Today there are so many derivatives that have HUGE resources internally such as the P89C668 if you insist on living in a 5V world. If you accept reality and go 3V3 you can get things like 128k flash, 8k RAM and 8 ports from e.g. SILabs. Srik |
