The 8051 will continue to function as specified in its Datasheet and/or the so-called "bible" for the 8051.

If you execute MOVC and/or MOVX instructions when there is no (properly configured) external memory, the results are undefined.


How would MCU know whether ALE is connected to specific device or not.
