Well,

Input voltage range I have not yet worked out. But it can be adjusted to any range we desire.

Yes, dB is ratio. I want to calculate the log of ratio of measured voltage to reference voltage.

An old circuit for the same application used a log converter IC, so it was in hardware and now it is to be achieved in software.
With high level language there is no problem at all but I am curious if it can be done in assembly.
