... that if you have a ratio of minimum and maximum dBs which will ever be output from your program, you have a finite number of possible outputs. Then, if this range is not too wide, you can easily construct a table containing the inputs for particular outputs.
That it is a log of a ratio of two numbers does not matter; log(a/b)=log(a)-log(b) - and the latter is simply a constant in your case. JW |
