#144606 - Schematic Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Schematic is put here. I realise i should have done that earlier. No wonder a picture is worth a thousand words!!
I am using Two BJT (in cascade)to generate about 150mA of current to run the relay. A port pin should not be connected directly to run the relay as it cannot handle currents in excess of 10-15mA for complete port pins. If the input required to drive the relay is say 150mA then with gain of BJT as 50 The value of Resistance R= (Vin-(0.7+0.7))/(150mA/50)= (5-1.4)/3 KOhm = 1kohm (approx). This will draw 3mA/50 =0.06mA from the uC port pin. This amount of curent can easily be handled. |
