The current datasheet is version 4, from May 2007 (although the only change compared to version 3 is Philips->NXP), and it contains the IAP command for sector erase on page 27. I see this version of datasheet both on the "main" website and the "american" version. You somehow dug out datasheet version 1 which did not contain this information, but that was superseded in already. JW PS. There are two FLASH blocks in the P89V51RD2, 64kB in block 0 intended for user application and 8kB in block 1 containing the bootloader; both 128-byte-sector-wise erasable and bytewise programmable. The "only" problem is, that NXP did not publish the method how to rewrite block 1 by software, so the only "official" way to reprogram block 1 is to use a parallel programmer. |
