Exactly how "big" is this motor?

ie, what current does it draw?

The L298 datasheet says it's rated for 2A - that sounds a bit low for a window lift motor...?

You really need to show your schematic of how you were using the L298!


[Car Windows , edited :)] DC motors take 5Amps or more at 12V if I am correct
