the datasheet will tell you max and min Ioh, Iol, Voh, Vol, Iih, Iil, Vih, Vil.

These values are ignored by most ("a high is a high, a low is a low")

Then, on the other hand, those of us that actuially apply those values have a tendency to make succesful designs, I wonder why.
