#149370 - 8052.com SBC - problems with LCD |
To be able to test DA A on DS89C450, I finally finished building my specimen of 8052.com SBC (OK it lasted one year, is it too long? :-) ).
I connected a 1602 LCD module I happened to have at hand - the 14-pin connector tends to be standard anyway, isn't it? However, it did not display anything... and the "asphalt" on it went hot! A quick look onto the schematics (and later to the datasheet downloaded from digikey) revealed, that the LCD intended for the 8052.com SBC - hence the SBC itself - has swapped the supply pins against what appears to be a standard (and I've never seen a small character module departing from this pinout)!
