I've never seen (in the flesh) an LCD that uses this pinout,though I always knew that, as soon as I bet on it, I'd find there were some that didn't have the relatively common 7x2 pinout. That low-cost SBC that I use from time to time has a 7x2 array of pins, which covers either arrangement, but which still won't handle this particular pinout. Other boards that take a directly connected LCD seem to stick with the pin-1 GND, pin-2 Vcc, pin-3 Vcontrast, with 4..6 being RS, nWE, and E, respectively and D0..D7 on pins 7..14, repectively.
