Note that the AT89C51 is not recommended for new designs:
http://www.atmel.com/dyn/produ...rt_id=1930 I wouldn't be surprised if you could achieve a power reduction simply by switching to a more modern derivative...? Anyhow, have you also tried tricks like putting the processor into a low-power mode when idle? |
