There is really no benfit for the EXE and all problems. There are folks that would want to download your code but the EXE is not workable on their system. Not everybody uses an IA32 or x86 platform for their embedded development.

If you want to offer options place RAR and ZIP files. RAR files seem to be popular in Asia.

It is also possible to get a WINZIP file, upon download to directly prompt for and respond to a request to extract it and launch an embedded installer. So an EXE is not needed on that basis alone.
