#151361 - thank you Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Thank you for your understanding! I do put my foot in my mouth every once in a while and I never get used to the taste :-)
Re. your explanation on resistor sizing. What you're saying makes perfect sense. When you're new to the game like I am, figuring out the acceptable range isn't trivial. Pullups, pulldowns, internal pullup resistors, high impedance inputs, it's all Greek to me! Is there any rule of thumb for the 8051/8052 as far as resistor sizing is concerned that is a safe place to start? I personally have spent many an hour on the net searching for microcontroller interfacing diagrams and information but because there are so many uC choices out there, finding info that I could trust was difficult. This website is a great reference. If it were practical, I would love to see an 8052 "Interfacing Examples" section with how-to's on connecting common I/O to the 8052 such as switches, LED's, relays, etc. for the 8051/8052 noobs like me who just don't know the proper way to do things. Just a thought... Thank you all again, Brian |
