First, decide which specific chip with hardware I2C slave you are going to use:

Once you know what chip, it will be easy for you to find the appropriate details to write the code - as usual, by reading the Datasheet and looking for Application Notes etc on the Manufacturer's website

There are even tools like Code Architect that will generate the code for you!
Just search this forum for "Code Architect"; you will find that Erik frequently recommends it - even for non-Philips (or NXP) devices...
