#154649 - Yes - No Controller Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I have also worked on a project that had a three digit LCD glass and a BP (back plane) connection that was directly driven by the MCU port pins. As Richard has said it is very low power but it is also very low cost and may be a good trade off if you have plenty of port pins to spare. Triple seven segments, two decimal points and the back plane signals will take three full 8-bit ports.
Software coding of the direct drive method must be done carefully to keep the duty cycle of the segment drives as close to 50% as possible. Michael Karas |
