#154824 - get rid of the OE
Responding to: ???'s previous message
The slave devices will all try to send their acknowledgement back. As there can be only one transmitter on the RS-485 line, the device that succeeds to pull its OE line high first will
that will NEVER work. Just visualize that 2 slaves get to the "is OE low" at the exact same time and thus both find that they can set it high BOOOM. get rid of the OE

Now the sales guys are asking the Engineering to take out the dip switches and make the slave recognition automatic.
discussed in excruciating detail here (just ignore the RF concerns) http://www.8052.com/forumchat/read.phtml?id=153326 and here http://www.8052.com/forumchat/read.phtml?id=154128
