To have a loop powered 4-20 mADC instrument interface, you can use ICL7106 and 3&1/2 digit LCD. I had made the board, which display the value in %. 7106 or 7136 is very nice ICs for such work and complete application is given in Intersil databook for common signal and power ground. However to use microcontroller in loop power, TI's very low power micro's should be used.
