Yes, the P89(L)V51Rx2 devices are quite different from the P89C51Rx2 devices. As Jan pointed out, after every reset the device waits for the watchdog timeout period for the autobaud character 'U' before giving up and trying to execute the contents of flash.
I would suggest writing a simple program to toggle a pin, verify it in the Keil simulator then try programming it into the device. Use the verify feature in Flash Magic to check it was programmed. Disconnect the serial cable before resetting the device to execute the code. Put a scope on the pin and check for a square wave. Andy |
