#155770 - Not a job for an 8051, then? Responding to: ???'s previous message |

Is there any new version of 8051 that address 128 k without banking? Any 16 bit version of 8051? As Erik suggested, it if won't fit into 64K then it's probably not a job for an 8051 anyhow. There are a few 8051 "upgrades" with >64K code space - but why lock yourself into a proprietary architecture? I would suggest that you'd be better off looking at something ARM-based; in particular, Cortex-M3. I'm currently looking at the Stellaris range from Luminary Micro, and STM32 for ST Microelectronics http://www.luminarymicro.com/ http://www.st.com/mcu/incht...fnam=stm32 They all give you on-chip debug. Luminary have some very cheap, self-contained dev kits that just need a USB connection - no separate JTAG adaptor; eg: ![]() http://www.luminarymicro.com/products/..._kits.html |
