#157415 - Tekmos Responding to: ???'s previous message |
For DIP40/PLCC44, you might ask at Tekmos for their RD2 - it should be available by now (Lynn Reed might be reading this...?) Meantime you might want to check out their version of '668 (which is a 64kB Flash/8kB RAM part).
NXP appears to have also the P89CV51Rx2 line - anybody seen real parts? They also might still offer their '668. The P89V51RD2 is most probably a relabelled SST89E516RD but the bootloader appears to be genuinely by NXP. However, the factory-provided bootloader is (was?) buggy and better be updated - see the FlashMagic site for information on this. The Atmel ED2/RD2s might be perhaps back in DIP if there will be enough demand, I guess - originally, the RD2 was not available in DIP only the ED2, but after a year or two both appeared in DIP. The replacement for AT89S8252 is AT89S8253 which after initial heavy bugs in silicon appears to be stable today; besides, there other AT89S5x devices available, which come with SPI-ISP (all of these are low-size-FLASH devices, though).
