And since I smell the possibility of this mistake from afar the peak voltage (as Kai notes you need to consider) of an AC signal is NOT the voltage that is typically used to describe said signal. eg 4VAC doesn't have a peak voltage of 4V... There's a difference between RMS voltage and peak voltage....
