Win2000 (and NT) are the first of Mr. Gates "products" that do not allow direct access to I/O devices. If you need to do so, you must use an earlier windows.

You should know by now that it is the windows way or no way, your wishes do not count.

I do not know if 2000 has the option of "booting in DOS mode", if it has, you can try that.

Have fun with you other stuff, it is impossible with windows.
