#158016 - Blowing MOSFETs Responding to: ???'s previous message |
One thing to avoid blowing MOSFETs is never have 100% or 0% PWM duty cycles because at these extremes the bootstrap capacitors stop charging and the MOSFETs go boom! so make minimum PWM duty cycle about 10% and maximum about 90%.
Use a fuse on the DC-Link capacitor for safety. Also use soft start because at start up spikes tend to destroy MOSFETs. Mahmood |
