when using a PC as a master for a 485 network, you lose the 9-bit mode
I always, in such instances, insert a "submaster" that is the only one the PC communicates with (making 232 possible) then the "submaster" communicates via 9-bit mode with the actual nodes. In the olden days when it was a breeze to drive a homemade PC card I put the "submaster" on the ISA bus. Erik |
