#16276 - RE: Keil Dongle is a pain in the B... |
Andy Neil wrote: ------------------------------- Shamelessly cross-posting from the Keil forum: I'm in the UK, using the Keil C51 toolset, and the Triscend E5. Being in Europe (or, should I say, outside the USA?) I have to use a "dongle" (hardware key) with the Keil tools. Far from being transparent, the Keil dongle seems to significantly mess-up the communication bewteen the parallel port and the Triscend JTAG. Keil's knowledge base article http://www.keil.com/support/d... suggests that this may not be an uncommon experience. Has anyone else experienced problems with the Keil dongle - particularly in connection with the Triscend E5? Any tips? PS I should be grateful if contributors would confine themselves to actual issues with actual dongles; if anyone wants to start a separate thread on the general philosophies of dongles, software protection, etc then please feel free - but please make it a separate thread! Another shameless plug. Raisonance makes a code and directive compatible package that doesn't require a dongle. If you get the Enterprise kit it is more code efficient as well. We will be releasing a Triscend compatible package within a couple of weeks certainly no later than mid December. More efficient, lower price, no dongle and all of your existing code will run. check out www.amrai.com or www.raisonance.com for more information. |
