I have a project with 2Mbyte of external XDATA and NO banking.
I have some HUGE structs (200k+) in XDATA and just have a simple 'page register' which is used when accessing the 2M data flash, not the 64k RAM. I guess what I am saying is that if you have only a few data entities outside the 64k then going without banking often is far simpler, faster, better than using banking. Typically needing more than 64k is not a lot of little XDATA 'things' but a few huge. Erik |
