I go always the opposite way:

- At first I point out, which tasks must be solved (e.g. display text, images or movies, which colors and size, fast or slow, ...)

- Then I must chose a display, which meet my requirements, pricing limits and was also good available.

- Then I download the data sheet and study, how it works.


- And only after this all I try to get or build some code for it.


So it sounds, you need the code for filling some file space and not to work on a real gadget ?
