Hey, halting that practice MIGHT deny us the opportunity to add firmware bugs to our competitors' field installations! :)

A good hacker can alter the program in an EEProm with a clip-on connection in no time at all. Subtle changes are most amusing.

Duh, anyone that designs that poorly deserves what they get. ;)
