#19552 - Tiny BASIC on a DS89C420 (A2 eng sample)
Hi,
I've just finished hacking together a simple test circuit for my Dallas Semiconductor DS89C420 (A2 rev. Engineering Sample) and I'm having a great deal of trouble getting the '420 to run Tiny BASIC. After powering up after the load (using the onboard serial bootloader at 19200bd) and sending a SPACE character to the '420, I get a load of garbage back from it (still at 19200bd, no parity, 8bits, 1stop, no handshaking). The register settings (from the loader) are:
LB:00 OCR:FF ACON:1F CKCON:01 PMR:80 P0:00 P1:FF P2:FF P3:FF FCNTL:B1

If I've decoded this right, that means it's set to run in "Divide By 1" mode (master clock), with "Stretch MOVX" set to 3 cycles, timer set to 12 osc clocks per timer clock. The oscillator is an 11.0952MHz xtal with two 22pF load capacitors.

Thanks in advance.

Phil.
