watchdog timer shall be used to keep track of software.the idea is like this: 1.partition ur code in sections well defined in terms of execution time. 2.every section on entry shall reload/reset watchdog timer. 3.if program goes into some undefined state which does not cater for wd the uc shall be resetted. 4.philips 80552 uc has a onchip watchdog with prescalar.u can refer philips site. regards pranav phatak |
