the whole story (my Capitals):
The pullup FET in the P0 output driver is used ONLY when the port is EMITTING 1s during EXTERNAL MEMORY ACCESSES. Obviously no memory chip would emit blue smoke if fed data during write operations. However, you would destroy some types of memory chips if you pulled a data pin high during read. Erik |
