I think they're saying that their device has a 16-bit interface that is compatible with the 8052, rather than implying that the 8052 itself is a 16-bit controller!
Of course, the 8052 does have a 16-bit external address bus (whence 64K address space), and you could easily implement a 16-bit databus. |
