Well no one can say you are "wrong", call it what you will. No 8051 is an ARM. The 8088 is a far cry from an ARM. The '251 is an 8051 variant that plugs into a std socket (in non page mode) and allows 8,16,& some 32 bit operations to occur. If you revue the architecture you will see 8 bit paths to the ALU but a 16 bit path from the ALU.
