#21359 - RE: max7219 with 8051: random results? |
haha, yeah, I guess I'll give the begging a try first.. but who knows.. maybe stealing.. hmm :)
But to clarify a couple more things: The main function, which just repeats it self, is basically, where I add things that need to constantly be updated or checked as quick as possible(for testing, I got the 100ms delay in there) Anything that only runs once, such as the Init funciton for the max7219 or my LCD init function, are called before the "repeat:" Like I said, I'm a beginner to this, and that just seemed like something that would work, and for what I've done so far (such as checking proximity sensors and driving motors on/off) it has worked good. Is there a more standard way of doign this? Also, regarding the LED array. If timing is my problem, wouldn't adding a small delay, say 5ms between each bit being sent, allow for the pin to stabalize and the data to be correct? I'll attempt to get a scope, but don't think that'll be too easy, so any tricks or something that I can do to test, or at least get the LEDs to do what its supposed to would be great. |
