try sending the character "k" twice from uC as the Transmit interrupt fires on the start of the byte rather than the end which cuts part of the byte off if you send the "k" twice then it will cut off the second "k" rather than the first.

or something like that, Erik Malund pointed me in the right direction on this once before (try a search) thanks Erik good advice, I'm sure you will correct me where I have gone wrong in the description above.
