Dear Kunal,
I tried your suggestion of changing the format of the input data using TEXT1.TEXT = StrConv(MSCOMM.INPUT, vbUnicode)
but still I am getting '[' character insted of 'k' and I also passed ascii character 'k' from mc to PC by writing

mov sbuf,#'k'

still i am not able to get the desired result. can anyone guide me.
