There already is one for every message. Or are you referring to displaying that value on the main thread screen? The problem is that one thread may contain many messages and each message may be read a different number of times. What read count would be displayed?

In any case, the # of times a message is read probably isn't a very good indicator of the worth of the message since the message has to be read (thus counted) for the reader to determine its value. I find that the # of the messages in a thread is *normally* a good indicator of the level of interest in a given topic. And the # of messages in a thread is displayed on the main thread screen.
