#24843 - RE: embedded software engineer jobs?? |
Hi Shahid,
Finding a job as an embedded programmer is about like finding any other job...you have to work at it. And often, it's a matter of networking, meeting people to find the jobs that aren't advertised. Ideally, meet the person who does the hiring and sell yourself, let them know how much better off they would be if they hired you. With embedded programming, that is a wide area...there are a lot of places making things/appliances that are mechanically controlled that would be simpler-cheaper-more reliable if they were controlled with a uC. If you can design the hardware too, you can sell yourself as a "package deal" and help bring these companies into the 21st century. This might be possible even in an internship type job, sort of like a trial employment. If they like you, they may keep you. Your job might be where you wouldn't expect it. Mine was...who would think a company building recreational vehicles would do such things? Good luck! Dennis |
