You can still do it if all your present interrupts are the same priority.

what if programmer wants 2 priority levels?
say 0 for int0 and 1 for rs232.if i save them
and put temporarily at priority1 and t0 at 0 then polling sequence shall process int0 first which is not what programmer wanted.
