Hello! I'm building a little eprom programmer and will use an adapted fluorescent flashlight with a germicidal bulb as an eprom eraser (don't worry! I'll use it in a way that myself or somebody else won't be exposed to the harmful UV light).

I know that you need from 20 to 30 minutes to erase an eprom with UV light, but I've seem commercial erasers that claim to do the job in 4 minutes... some even less (you can see them at http://www.grifo.com/PROG/uk_Eraser.htm ). How it's done? The stroboscopic type I can understand, it uses a more powerful light, so it erases faster, but what about the others, with fluorescent lamps?

I've seem an ad of a 9W model (with germicidal lamp!) that erase eproms in 4 minutes. I want to build one of these for myself.
