Thanks for a nice discussion but question is still there.
I wrote only two lines for a test. No other file and no any other variable.
Can someone please copy and past the following two lines in Keil or Ride and tell me why there is an error.

unsigned char pdata PDat[256];
void main() { }

Erik and peter are right. Old compiler doesn't give any error.
