cisc - complex instruction set computer. Example: 8051. ( over 100 instructions.)
risc - reduced instruction set computer. Example: Pic's. ( some have 33 instructions or so.) I believe the risc/cisc distinction is somewhat blurred today. Someone correct or add to this if necessary. Steve. |
