Timers are simply free running counters incremented by a clock. You can control the clock frequency by software so that you adjust the overflow time. or it can be used as a stop watch to measure the time un event took place.
as peter stated it can generate interrupt on overflow if its interrupt enable bit is enabled. Mahmood |
