#29456 - RE: interupts and timers |
I've read through the FAQ on the website about timers/interupts, but it fails to address some of my concerns.
-ASM Syntax -Can interupts be completely seperate from the timer. (Do you always need a timer to generate an interupt?) There really needs to be a simple "interupt example" in this site's source code examples. (hint hint) Maybe something that just triggers an interupt when a button is pushed that makes an LED light or something. After seeing the example code just once, I'm sure I can figure it out. But again, most interupt source messed with timers, which I don't think you always HAVE to have in order for it to work - or am I wrong? I must admit, this site makes me feel dumb, then I realize I'm new to both ASM *and* micros and I don't feel so bad after that. :-) Did I make the correct choice in choosing to learn 8051's over PICs? |
