#29798 - RE: Removing a Cr Linefeed from data strea |
For this simple requirement of removing '$' and ',' in addition to CR/LF, Donald Catto's binary character-at-a-time "filter" is quite adequate.
However, I am compelled to share with the Forum members how concisely text processing languages can deal with such problems. The following two-line awk script accomplishes the task. { gsub( /[$,]/, "" )
printf( "%s", $0 ) } The real benefit to text processing languages is apparent when pattern matching and regular expressions are required. |
