Why not you use a socket modem which is available in both flavours (Parallel and Serial) and simply issue AT commands to setup modem for answer modes etc. this way it will be less overhead on your MCU and you can implement other functions more effectively.
I have done a similar thing but I used Hitachi SH series MCU (8 bit) as it was customer's requirement. Good luck to you. |
