#30729 - RE: how to connect 8051 to modem & telep |
Hi Ashwitha
I used parallel type socket modem with interrupts so my MCU would only be interrupted when there is data received by modem (after connecting with calling modem). I set the modem to Auto Answer after 1 Ring when there is an incoming call and connect at 33600 bps without compression due to the nature of my project. I connected the modem Data lines to 1 of the 8 bit Port and Rd/Wr/CS signals I generated from another port. The modem Int you can tie to the MCU Int pin. You can get Socket modems from many companies but for my project I used Conexant as there documentation is excellent. Even though I was only using 33.6kbps I bought from them V.90 modem as the price was same but I disabled the V.90 during initialization of the modem and restricted to answer at 33.6kbps. If you need data sheets or command manual etc. for the Conexant Socket Modems let me know I can email to you, please be aware that these are all big files. Good Luck IS |
