#30805 - RE: Prescaler Part II |
Ok, I don't know if i'm not explaining myself clear enough. I am currently using a Texas Instrument MSP430 Series OTP. Reasons being, lifespan of the item on a small lithium battery is crucial, and it only takes 6 cycles to wake from sleep mode. I am currently incrementing a counter everytime i get an interrupt on P0.0., which is being fed a pulse from an external measurement chip. I need a factor of 65000, i.e: count to 65000 then increment OR the other way round. Now, all i'm asking is how can this be implemented, the scaling factor bit? How do you implement this in software? What would i need to do in the timers to achieve that goal? I'm as lost as u can get in this for I have never done prescaling in software. Is there anywhere that i can get a document or at least somebody can explain the implementation of prescalers/scaling factors in software, i.e: Timer setups Thanks in advance. |
