#30822 - RE: Prescaler Part II |
Apologies, did not know that. Since i did start it here, the concept should be the same shouldn't it, just the core is different. Used Atmels and AVR's all my life, so should know how to import into MSP. All i need to know is what i asked. More important to get the concept of using prescaler than implementing it. Reason being. My idea was this. Have a timer running, and every second, read the pulse_cnt value that was being incremented every time a pulse on the port generated an interrupt. After 1 hr, take all tabulated 3600 readings and divide and get electricity usage in kWH. However I was still told from higher up to use prescaler, and i do not know why, for i do not know what is the significance/benefits of using prescalers in software except for accuracy. All i ask is for some answers to my questions asked. |
